Phoenix Online was founded by a team of people from all around the world, brought together by their love of adventure games. Their goal was to create a sequel to the popular Sierra King\'s Quest games - one like Roberta Williams might have created, as well as following their own vision.

Legal problems plagued them for 8 years, but they refused to give up on their dream, and finally they reached an agreement with the currant copyright holders of the King\'s Quest name, on the condition that the game would be released for free, and they would not use the name \"King\'s Quest\". Thus, The Silver Lining was born.
